Product Description
Heavy Cast Aluminum Pressure Cooker/CannerAmazon.com Review
This heavy-duty pressure cooker’s large capacity is probably best utilized for canning (though it would also be great for a number of cooking tasks). A pressure cooker is generally recommended when canning vegetables and nonacid fruit, since the high heat that can be generated will kill more bacteria than a regular hot water bath. Made from cast aluminum, with sturdy screws to seal the lid to the pot, this pressure cooker requires no rubber or plastic gaskets or rings. Its 21-1/2-quart capacity holds 19 pint jars or 7 quart jars. A three-setting pressure regulator valve is included, and the pressure gauge gives a clear reading. Made in Wisconsin, this is an American classic. –Julija Gelazis

  • I have used this pressure cooker maybe 15 times. I took it in and had the gauge tested, thats fine I bought a replacement. I tried to unscrew the gauge and I could barely get it out. I was perplexed why would it be this hard to get out….because it was stripping threads all the way out! Since I am the original owner and I had never replaced the gauge I can only surmise that it was cross threaded at the factory! What poor craftmanship, so much for American made!

  • My mother in law has had the 315 canner for many years and it still works well. We bought the 921 and have had nothing but grief! The first one we ordered refused to seal so they replaced it on warranty. The second one seals maybe 1 out of 10 tries!! The Foundery is offering to replace again with the smaller model(?) so I guess we will try our luck with that one, but the 921? Never!!

  • I’m considering purchasing an All-American canner but I have a glass cooktop stove. Don’t want to risk breaking my stove with the heavy canner so I’m considering purchasing a portabe electric burner (hot plate). Has anyone ever used the canner on a hotplate? Any recommendations on a good brand? Thanks.

  • I purchased this product for a gift so I have never used it. However is appears very well made and is very sturdy as a pressure cooker should. It is American made and clearly built by a company that cares about its products. Because it is not cheaply made it is not cheaply priced.
