KWartzLab – Metal Casting 101 – Gus demos
KWartzLab hacker space held a meetup 2009-07-26 to show beginners how to cast metal. We used lead-free solder for our material and cuttlefish bone for our molds. Here, Gus demonstrates the basic principle of what we’re about to do by using one of his soapstone molds.

Fun was had by all. It was my kids’ first experience with the makers from KWartzLab. Gus was kind enough to give one of my guys the medallion that he poured here, since the one I poured for him later didn’t turn out.
