Is it possible to cut a precious stone into a pendant?
I am making a piece of Jewelery and I don’t have the resources to cast silver. However I do have plenty of materials at hand to use. I was wondering if it was possible to cut a larger stone (probably not a gem) into a pendant, and have jewels encrusted in it, and for it to look good? If its possible, what stones would work the best and look the best together?

What is the name of the stuff you rub into bare metal cast iron fire surrounds to keep it metallic looking?
I really need to get some as I’ve stripped my Cast Iron Fire Surround back to bare metal and it looks great but there is something you can buy to make it look metallic looking (Not paint).

How To Turn Junk Silver Into Good Casting Grain For Later Use?
I have alot of scrap silver that I want to melt into casting grain..I have a furnace that I have melted silver in before but I cant seem to get the nice small grains for ease of melting later..I also have some .999 fine that I want to turn into sterling casting grain..Any help would be great
