SIKU Toys ? All time favorite die cast toys

Siku Toys are produced by a German company called Sieper Lüdenscheid GmbH & Co. KG. The year 1921 saw the foundation of the company, while it extensively began manufacturing toys in 1950. Gradually SIKU developed a range of car models which gained immense popularity. The word “SIKU” was formed using the first two initials of its founder Richard Sieper and “Kunststoffe” which is the German word for plastic.

The 1980′s witnessed the introduction of the SIKU FARMER series which contained toys at the scale of 1:32 which primarily are required for farming purposes. Till date, the SIKU FARMER series is still one of the most popular offerings from SIKU. Moving over to offer a vintage range of tractor models, SIKU introduced the SIKU FARMERCLASSIC range at the scale of 1:32, in the year 2002. The year 2005, SIKUSUPERCLASSIC series was introduced comprising of highly detailed fire-engines in the vintage variety at the scale of 1:50. The latest introduction is the launch of a new radio-controlled generation of models. Die casting is a custom manufacturing process that produces engineered metal parts by injecting molten metal under very high pressure into reusable molds, called “dies,” made from premium tool steel. The dies can be designed to cast very complex shapes and sharply defined product features with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability, often with no post-casting machining required to meet part specifications. Unusually smooth surfaces can be produced as-cast, as well as a variety of textured surfaces. Die castings are suitable for a range of cosmetic finishes to match other mated parts or add extra durability in use.

Advanced high-pressure die casting, with some machines operating at die clamping forces exceeding 4500 pounds per square inch, is capable of producing net- or near-net-shape castings of high integrity and dimensional precision— at very high cycle speeds. A complete die casting cycle can vary from less than one second for small components weighing less than an ounce, to no more than two-to-three minutes for a casting of several pounds.
